Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu has assured the university of Calabar (UNICAL) Alumni Association, Asaba Chapter, of his zeal to promote the interest of the association for the betterment of humanity.
Aniagwu made the assurance today in Asaba when he received on a courtesy visit a delegation from the University of Calabar Alumni Association (UNICAL), Asaba chapter led by its chairman, Mr Luke Mokwonyei.
The commissioner commended the efforts of the association for always bringing out the best from each person, adding that the University of Calabar had raised great men who were contributing towards the growth of the country.
He appreciated the efforts made by members of the alumni exco for giving him the platform in advancing the course of the association and promised to be more active in felicitating with friends and members of the association.
Aniagwu stated that he would play his role in contributing to the betterment of the association and assured them that the ministry’s doors would always be opened to them.
While thanking the UNICAL alumni for its visit, Mr Aniagwu expressed his desire to have a more collaborative relationship with the association and also commended the chairman of the association for his leadership skills and dedication towards ensuring the growth of the alumni.
Earlier, the Chairman of UNICAL Alumni Association, Asaba Chapter, represented by the Secretary of the association, Mr Peter Aboh, congratulated the commissioner on his reappointment, stating that it was a well-deserved appointment.
Mr Aboh appreciated the commissioner for his generosity towards the association during their last years end of year party which was hindered by the pandemic, and solicited for more support.
He stressed that it would be a great privilege to have the presence of the commissioner in their midst, adding that his presence would boost their gathering.
