Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, has said that peace and security is necessary for the realisation of the Stronger Delta vision of the Okowa led administration.
Mr Aniagwu stated this when he received in audience the chairman of Team Search For Common Ground, Mrs Bridjet Effiah in his office in Asaba.
He maintained that peace and security is the bedrock for the development of every society, adding that no meaningful development could take place in an atmosphere of disharmony.
The Commissioner stated that he would assist the body towards the realisation of maintaining peace and security in the state whenever the need arises, adding that the strategic position of the ministry would be used as a platform to continue to advocate for peace building in the state, just as he said that the ministry would partner the peace building body.
Earlier in her address, Mrs Effiah thanked the commissioner for granting her the opportunity to inform the ministry of the objectives of the body, saying that the visit had become very necessary, considering the strategic position of the ministry in information management in the state.
She said that there was the need to partner with the ministry so as to consolidate on the peace and security already recorded by the state government.
