Delta State Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko has lauded the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for bequeathing a befitting multi-billion naira Secretariat Complex to civil servants after 30 years of creation of Delta State.
Mr. Bayoko while giving a vote of thanks at the inauguration of the newly completed ultra-modern Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat complex by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo on Monday, said that Dr. Okowa was a friendly Governor and an all-round master whose leadership attributes were invaluable.
While pledging the commitment of the end users of the complex to improve on the general conduct and productivity so that government can deliver effortlessly on its mandate to Deltans, he disclosed that research has shown that there was correlation between the working environment and the attitude of staff towards work.
He opined that the work environment plays significantrole on productivity and the disposition of the workforce, stressing that the edifice was a huge source of pride and motivation to civil servants in the state.
Describing the secretariat as a “Smart building” with the state-of-the-art facilities, the HOS disclosed that civil servants had shown enthusiasm and frenzied excitement to move into the edifice.
The Head of Service expressed appreciation to the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo for accepting to commission the gigantic edifice.
Bayoko, however attributed the presence of the Vice President as a demonstration of the significance of the project and his love for governor Okowa and the people of Delta state.
He charged civil servants in the state to reciprocate the gesture of government by being diligent in their duties and taking ownership of the complex.
