The Delta State Government has pledged its commitment to the pursuit of justice for the brutalized toddler, Master Gift Ohanazoeze, who passed away allegedly as a result of injuries sustained from being brutalized by his teacher.
The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, made this pledge today when he paid a visit to the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ari Mohammed, at the Police Headquarters, to ascertain the progress being made by the police in the investigation into the death of the child.
The Commissioner gave the assurance that the state government would not leave any stone unturned in ensuring that justice was done.
According to the Commissioner ‘’We will ensure that the state government follows this matter to its logical conclusion observing the tenets of the law. It is our responsibility to ensure that every Deltan is treated with respect and dignity’’.
The Commissioner assured all Deltans and non Deltans living in the State that government will always protect them by ensuring that justice prevailed throughout the state.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ari Mohammad, said that an autopsy would be carried out on the deceased to ascertain the cause of death of the child, stressing that the case would be charged to court after investigations.
It would be recalled that on February 12, 2022, baby Gift Ohanazoeze, allegedly passed away as a result of injuries inflicted on him by Mr. Joshua Emeka of the Arise and Shine school which has been closed down.
