BISHOP ENAKIRERHI URGES CHRISTIANS TO SEEK GOD THROUGH BAPTISM OF HOLY SPIRIT
By Balogun Mabamije.
As the 2021 Pentecost Day was being celebrated in different parts of the country and the world at large, Christians in Delta State have been urged to seek the genue power of God through the baptism of the Holy Spirit for effective service.
Speaking to Christians at the Heroes of Faith Ministry in Ughelli on the topic, “The Outpouring of the Holy Ghost and Seven fold Ministry of the Holy Spirit,” the state chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria ( PFN), Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi, said that the Pentecost Day marked the arrival of the Holy Ghost to the church which was promised by Jesus Christ in Luke 24:49.
Bishop Enakirerhi said that the Holy Ghost is the power of God released upon the church for effective service and urged all Christians to pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit which signifies the presence and power of God in the church.
The PFN chairman noted that people no longer accord the church the fear of God due to the absence of God’s Power in the church, saying that a pastor that had no power of God could not function effectively.
He emphasised that in the days of John the Baptist, while he was in the wilderness preaching the word of God, sinners flocked around him, seeking for repentance because of the power of God, adding that all things become possible when the power of God was at work.
Bishop Enakirerhi berated pastors who run after titles as a way to show off, saying that titles without God’s Power was as good as useless.
Speaking further, Bishop Enakirerhi emphasised that purity, love and the words of God could not be compromised if one was to contact and connect with the Holy Ghost, just as he added that sin could quench the power of God.
The well attended ceremony was rounded off with prayers for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the church in Nigeria, growth of the church, peace and progress of the state and the country.
