February, 2021.
It has come to the attention of the Delta State Government that State Lands previously allocated to individuals and corporate organizations with Certificate of Occupancy duly issued for the purposes of development have not been developed within the stipulated two years from the dates of commencement of the Statutory Rights of Occupancy to erect and complete on the said lands the building(s) or other works specified in detailed approved building plans.
Consequently, Government frowns at the speculative intent behind the non-development of these allocated lands which have become homes for dangerous reptiles, squatters, destitute and sometimes criminal elements who hide under the cover of darkness and overgrowths to attack citizens within the city centres.
Therefore, the general public should note that the Delta State Government is set to revoke all of such undeveloped lands within the State after three months from the date of this publication.
Accordingly, all owners of undeveloped lands within the capital territory are by this announcement enjoined to take note and be guided.
